Going to Hawaii next month to warm up! 🌴😎🌴 I hope to make it to the Monday function.

Give us your input on whether you would like to plan 60th reunion in 2023. Please either leave us your comments on the Messages page or complete the Questionnaire to the left of this page.
So happy to hear about Jana. Would be great to be in touch.

If you are interested in organizing a reunion for 2023, let us hear from you and your ideas and if you would be interested in helping. If you have ideas of venues and preferences, post your ideas on this site so all can be involved. As someone who lives in Florida, as much as i would love to have a reunion, just having a picnic in a park would not be a draw to attend when having to fly across the states, stay in a hotel and then "bring a food item to contribute." I thought the venues at the 50th were a wonderful schedule with a happy hour at a restaurant with a great view, a dinner dance, a tour of the school (there is a new school) and then a casual gathering was a wonderful weekend of activities and worth the commute. Please let us hear from you
Sarah Quinn (Haddox)

Two score and ten years.....fifty years...five decades....one half century......no matter how it is described---It's a long, long time!!!
Time passes so quickly. A reunion. a gathering of souls, a party for our past. What is it for?
Every once in a while, instead of looking forward to what we must do or where we are going, we look back to where we have been. Maybe to assess and change direction, to contemplate and remember our blessings or to reassure ourselves we are on the right path.
This reunion can be part of that.
We may want to aplogize to a friend we have offended, thank them for what they have done for us----or to renew a friendship we have let time come between.
This reunion can be a part of that.
Laughing, hugging, remembering, crying, sharing and reaching out to a simpler time that was still protected by our small community of friends and family. We see how the world around us has grown and changed, for better or worse, and how it can continue to grow with new memories and rekindled friendships.
James Madison was the foundation from which we built on to start our lives. May it continue to bring us good thoughts od fond experiences for the future and put a smile in your heart.
Taken from the 30 year reunion memory book.
Thank you to everyone who is organizing this event; your work is most appreciated and it will be wonderful to see all who attend and to remember those who cannot be with us.
I was thinking for our 70th Birthday year, instead of a costly dinner party like we had last year have a picnic at Blue Lake Park.
haakey@aol.com
To the reunion committee---- many thanks for a wonderful weekend. You did a fantastic job organizing everything. I know it was a lot of work over many months. All of the planned events were great opportunities to get reaquainted with good friends (not 'old' friends) who we may not have seen for sooo many years. The tour of Madison was quite a trip, and a pleasant surprise. The "classmates only" party was crowded and noisy and a great success, although I missed recognizing several good friends in that crowd. How fun to just relax and visit. Sat. evening was in a lovely venue with good food and a rare opportunity to dance. We were so busy talking we had to kind of talk over the noise but it was all fun. On Sunday, thanks to Arabelle and Jim Cash, we had a delightful Rose City Park picnic which reunited many of us from Grant and Madison. Thank you to all who came. Being from out of town, it was wonderful to see so many. I know you city kids get to see each other occasionally. Age seemed to melt away the more we talked. The idea of a 70th birthday party sounds great to me, but if you do take it on again---make it simple on yourselves. We want to get together, visit and laugh over a very short lived but important part of our lives. Why did the first 18 years last so much longer than the last 50?! What varied and amazing stories we have. Any way, I appreciate all of you and hope to see you again in a couple of years! Good Grief, 70? Really? Thank you so much! Brenda (Schmitz) Olson OH, and special thanks to my wonderful friend Pat (Stone) Elliott who was not only on the committee, but put us up for the weekend. We have kept up our friendship all these years and appreciate the hospitality!!
I would like to say that I had a great time both Friday and Saturday evenings and thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put it all together.
With regard to 70 Years Young, I think I would like to see a classmates get together for a short period of time IE 4-5 hours in a private venue which obviously we can make as loud or quiet as we like. I know of a Catering Company who gets rave reviews and is very very reasonable. I know they have done from 12 - 350. I wouldn't mind relaying their info to the worker bees.
No, I am not volunteering!
Darrell
Thanks for sending out the message. What I would prefer is an afternoon - early evening event in a location where we can easily mingle and mix without a lot of extraneous noise. That way we can talk.
Maybe a buffet dinner or just appetizers or even a potluck. It would be great if everyone could tell what they've been doing or some kind of group activities. Even a park would be good. Are we still able to do sack races? In short, quality time.
Thanks so much; let me know how I can help.
Stay healthy, everyone.
"A party?.....Oh yes!"
I was not able to attend our 50th reunion last year.
And I would like to see so many of our classmates and celebrate our 70th Birthdays.
Sandra Nelsen Di Vito
Yes please , a 70th birthday party is a must. The re-union was such a success, thanks to all the dedicated and so appreciated individuals who pulled it all together. I agree with the idea of a quiet place, something on the water would be nice.
Thank you again to all of you who made the re-union happen. Looking forward to the Birthday party !
So sorry to hear about John Bain's passing. From his obituary, he certainly sounds like one of the "good" guys, lived to help others and had more than his share of trouble.
Hi Everyone;
Just checking to see whether our 70th birthday bash will be on July 31-August 2. If it's the second weekend, I won't be able to be there, so hope it is on Saturday, August 1.
See you all then, Sue Ellen White
info on the 2015 is coming shortly. We're having the Fri. Function again and then on the following day(Sat.) we're having a picnic at Main St. Park Gresham,Or. Dates & Tines wI then a week. Sorry I can't find the paper I had the resv.'s on since I didn't have a 2015 at the time. Happy New Year
Hi all...I really like the idea of a picnic gathering for our birthday celebrations! I should be available after the middle of August. Best, Janet Volchok
I like the idea of a picnic, too, Janet. I won't be available on the weekend of Aug. 7th, but right now, other dates are open, though we are beginning to plan a kayak trip to Haida Gwai'i.
I would love to see everyone again....a 70th party sounds wonderful!
I missed last year's reunion. Let's hope the 70th birthday bash brings more poeople out for a romping good time. Jerri-Jo (Ruggenberg) Idarius
Hi everyone,
i hope everyone can make the Picnic Aug.8! i have the park reserved from 9am to 9pm. So the starting time of Noon is off by 3 hrs. I think most people will come between 10-12! People will start eating about noon. Anybody who want to come early9:30-11 are more then welcome. Somebody will be there setting up.
Happy Birthday everyone,
Pat Saling should be added to the memories section 7/44 to 9/14
so sorry if people came and thought they were at the wrong park. City of Gresham screwed up big time. They double booked the 100 seat covered area with us and PGE. PGE had our area ful of vendors and people ignauurating the Japanese Garden bridge at the park. luckily the boss of Gresham Parks was there and he turned white seeing the screwup. They brought us tables and chairs and garbage cans and a gas BBQ (which we never used. For the 30-40 people who did show up we had good food and conversations with our fellow classmates of 63. we also are getting our our money back. 😀 on another note I was contacted bye the class's of 64 & 65 who want to have a combined function next year. I said also include class of 62 as there are many friends in that class also. Leave your thoughts please!
regards,
Rick Feldamann
I don't think we would have room at the sextant for 4 classes!! We had a pretty big crowd for just our class
Many thanks to the 70th birthday party organizers!! It was wonderful to see those who could make it - numbers were few, but the memories were great!!! Take care and here's to another year for all of us!
P.S. My husband and I live on Whidbey Island (a ferry ride from Mukilteo,WA) and would love to see anyone venturing our way. We are the only Hossfeld in the book!
Rick, Sarah, Bradshaws and the rest of the party planners and organizers......thanks for another great time. With your efforts we still got in the picnic even if the Park Dept. at City Hall gave away the space.......and thanks for the birthday cake.
Regards, Steve H
Thank you Donna Hertner for helping with the cake . Pat Williams, thank you for all the silverware. the food was plentiful and delicious
yes the Sextant would be out unless we the class of 63 still want to do it. We could have a combined picnic at either Blue Zlake or Selwood Park.
Hey Everyone:
Happy Holidays. As I was preparing (late, of course, just like my term papers) our holiday letter, I came across photos from our 70th birthday party.
It was great fun despite Gresham Parks' messup and our organizers did a stellar job.
I'd love to combine with the other classes, though name stickers and years would be a must as my memory is challenged enough as it is.
Thanks everyone; stay healthy in 2016.
Reunion 2015
Reunion
Like so many reunions over the last 50 years I was not notified about a turning 70 returning. I haven't moved. Made it to our 50th reunion.
